Your list

Signup forms

Collect subscribers with a hosted page or a form embedded on your site.

A signup form is how people join your list. Every form has its own page at percymail.com/f/your-form, an embed snippet for your site, and settings for what happens after someone signs up.

#Create a form

Go to Forms → New form. The editor shows a live preview next to the settings.

You can set:

  • Headline, description and button text: what visitors see.
  • Consent line: a plain sentence about what people are signing up for, such as "One email a week. Unsubscribe any time."
  • Ask for a name: adds an optional name field. Names fill in {{first_name}} in your emails.
  • Tag: added to everyone who signs up through this form. Use it to send to part of your list, or to start a sequence.
  • Double opt-in (recommended, on by default): new subscribers confirm their address from an email before they're added. It keeps typos, fake addresses and spam traps off your list, which protects your deliverability.
  • After signing up: show a message, or send people to a page on your site.
  • Style: follow your brand, or set the theme, color and layout for this form only.

#Share or embed it

The hosted page works anywhere you can paste a link: your bio, a social post, an email signature.

To put the form on your own site, copy the Embed snippet from the form editor. It's a small <iframe> plus a one-line script that sizes the frame to fit the form, and it works on any site builder that accepts HTML. If your builder doesn't allow scripts, paste just the <iframe> line; it starts at a height that fits the form.

#Turn a form off

Disable a form to stop new signups without deleting it; its page then says signups are closed. Deleting a form doesn't delete the people who signed up through it.

#Limits that keep your list healthy

  • One address can only receive a confirmation email every 10 minutes, so nobody can flood someone's inbox through your form.
  • Signups from one network are limited per hour.
  • Addresses that bounced or marked your email as spam can't sign up again through a form.
